Meditation/5-14-13

James 5:13-15 (NIV)

The Prayer of Faith

¹³Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. ¹⁴Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

People in church are not alone. Members of Christ’s body should be able to count on others for support and prayer, especially when they are sick or suffering. The elders should be on call to respond to the illness of any member, and the church should stay alert to pray for the needs of all its members.

Be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving each other, just as in Christ God
forgave you.
( Ephesians 4:32 *NIV )

Precious Heavenly Father, please hear our prayers this morning. Guide us in your love today Lord, keep us strong and safe as we go through this day showing your love to others. Help us to be kind and compassionate to all people and to show that we are your children with the love you given us O Lord..in Jesus name amen.
