Meditation/Betty’s Verse Of The Day/7-15-14

In This Verse of the day I have added reference and other version…

Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)

Ask, Seek, Knock(A)

“Ask and it will be given to you;(B) seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;(C) and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Cross references:

  1. Matthew 7:7 : 7:7-11pp — Lk 11:9-13
  2. Matthew 7:7 : 1Ki 3:5; Mt 18:19; 21:22; Jn 14:13, 14; 15:7, 16; 16:23, 24; Jas 1:5-8; 4:2, 3; 5:16; 1Jn 3:22; 5:14, 15
  3. Matthew 7:8 : Pr 8:17; Jer 29:12, 13

As we read the Word we must seek and ask, we wait to, we wait for God’s timing not ours. The main word I see here is SEEK, we must seek God daily and as we seek Him we find Him, we ask and we also believe what we ask for will be given, and God won’t leave us stranded, we just keep seeking him..I have been in this situation, wondering why God hasn’t answered a prayer, well I had to wait for His timing, and He always has answered me..Ask Him and wait..Love BettyB..Let’s Pray…

Precious Lord Jesus Please hear our prayers this morning..Lord today we ask for guidance in prayer, we ask for persistence to wait on you to answer. Help us to be witnesses for your Word, protect us in your loving arms and help us to just seek you as we go on today..Help us to know you will answer us in time, Your time, we love you Lord, In Jesus Name..Amen.

Matthew 7:7-8King James Version (KJV)

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

  2. Wow! What a powerful confirming regarding “Seeking God.” I wrote on my blog today as well, “Seeking God’s Hidden Face.” He definitely wants us to sincerely and persistently seek Him in this season. Thanks for sharing. I received this in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen!
