Meditation/Betty’s Verse Of The Day/10-24-14
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.
Jesus has just been baptized by John the Baptist and in this verse the Holy Spirit comes to him like a dove. It’s¬† amazing how God will guide us and help us. John had a job to do, bringing Jesus into the water was God’s plan and John new this. Obedience we must have and John had this, Love BettyB…Let’s pray..
Lord Jesus please hear us this morning. Lord, today help us to just be obedient and always hear your direction and guide us as we go on through this day..In Jesus Name, Amen.

  2. Hi, Betty,

This is such an important reminder.

I’ve been thinking lately about how each and every human being, even “identical twins,” has his or her unique face. I mean, of all the billions of human beings who have ever lived, due to the exquisite engineering of our Maker, there are no two people who look exactly alike. Our voice is likewise unique, as are many other physical components.

In like manner, we are each uniquely called to a life in Christ that in certain respects is completely unique to us. No one else can do the particulars although we are all called to the generalities. Receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and allowing the work of the Holy Spirit to guide us is what opens up the door to our “tasks.” And when it’s hard to obey Him we have the powerful help of the Spirit of God Who leads, directs, corrects, encourages, and empowers us through His Word, His people and His constant presence. And when we fall down, He even helps us up.

I am once again humbled and grateful for this knowledge. Thanks for the post that prompted the reminder.

    • Oh how we are loved by Him. He is our refuge.
